The Rúnora Approach to True Power
1. Ground in the Physical Body 2. Develop Understanding and Compassion 3. Increase Awareness of the Inner World 4. Connect to Intuition 5. Ask the Big Questions
Summary
1. Ground in the Physical Body
When we are aware of our body, feeling it, communicating with it, learning from it, and treating it as the complex and extraordinary vehicle that it is, then we are more in contact with whom we really are. When we ignore our body and take it for granted, the body often experiences disease, accidents or burnout, simply to get our attention. We need to treat our body as the sacred temple of our wise Self.
As our physical body knows everything, holds the answers to everything, we would be unwise to bypass its intelligence. Most of us are too stuck in our mind, making decisions and acting from the head instead of the heart. The more we connect with our body, the easier it is to take the ride from the head to our heart, which is the place we want to steer our lives from.
2. Develop Understanding and Compassion
The
more we know ourselves and others, the easier it is to be in control
and claim mastership of our lives. The more we are in control of our
body, our overactive, untamed mind, and our volatile emotions, the more
creative, harmonious, and successful life becomes. This leads to
becoming accepting, compassionate, and loving towards ourselves and
others, instead of getting into the destructive game of blaming and
fighting. When people get along better in the workplace, at home and
everywhere else, the flow of creativity and productivity increases, and
the thrill and joy of working in community grows tremendously.
3. Increase Awareness of the Inner World
Most
of us are too busy running our lives in the outer world with all the
complexity and stimuli of modern society, that we ignore or are not
aware that there is this other world, our very own inner world. This
inner world not only wants to participate in our life, but wants and
needs to be the one in charge. We can look at our outer life as the
vehicle, the horse, or the servant, and our inner life as the horseman,
the wise rider, that steers the journey to alignment and authenticity.
When we start exploring the inner world, we become better human beings
and embrace our humanity.
4. Connect to Intuition
Our intuition is a hunch, a gut feeling, a knowing -- inner guidance where answers, ideas and creativity flow from. It is the place within each of us where our own wisdom and truth awaits to be harnessed. The place that connects us to our heart, our soul and to the awareness of the bigger whole.
When we do connect to our essence, our true self, we open up to the magical connection to the greater consciousness. When we trust this inner guidance, we find the answers to the challenges life presents us, both within our organization and in our private life. When we have the trust that the answers lie within, we no longer depend on searching for the answers on the outside.
5. Ask the Big Questions
“Who am I?”, "Why am I here?" and "What purpose does life have for me?" are examples of the big Universal questions. It is our connection to our inner guide and to the guidance of the greater consciousness that leads us to the answers.
If we ask the big questions and allow a new awareness to bubble up from the depth within, we find our life aligning to something bigger than ourselves. We get clarity of purpose and values. We experience internal peace. We get happier and healthier, and we spread joy and love all around. When the leaders are at peace within themselves, they exude harmony, and they present the possibilities of creative solutions and collaboration versus competition. When people throughout the organization are connected and happy, they treat themselves and others more gently and compassionately, and the organization as a whole becomes vibrant and successful. Each person finds his or her unique place to be of service within the organization, strengthening and supporting the whole. When everyone works from that place of peace and creativity and feels valued, that’s when magic happens. New ideas are being born, projects take off, and the collective effort surpasses what has previously been imagined.
Summary
As the individuals in your organization go through this process, your company becomes part of a bigger matrix instead of struggling for its own survival. The organization becomes a channel not only for profit, but also for environmental and social changes, and for service. If the organization is healthy and connected, it can begin to reach out and heal the communities around it. That leads to reversing the destructive path we have been on for so long as humans and towards participation in healing our planet. Therefore, by starting the healing process with our own healing, we contribute to the healing of others around us and consequently the world at large.
